Marathon Update

So, a few blogs back I decided to declare my goal of running the LA Marathon in March. Since then I have been trying to really work out consistently. I have been pushing myself as hard as I can right now. The good thing is that my job is stressful so I have enough stress energy at the end of my work day to want to run! Today my goal was doing my leg workouts and also running as long as I could at a 10 mph pace. I got to about 2.5 miles and got bored of staring at myself in the mirrors in front of the treadmill, so I got off and went to weights. I feel that in 7 months if I increase my running by 3-4 miles each month (with me starting at 2.5) I should be able to ready myself for the marathon. I literally just got home and my legs feel different than the first time, which is good. Not jello-like, but more strong feeling like when I played sports, but they could be much stronger.

I cant wait to be back in shape! I really have desired that for a long time, but never had a goal or reason to do it. I'm average size and eat fairly healthy so my motivation would have only been to look better in a swimsuit (Isn't that every woman's desire?) ha! Every time I would get around to thinking about it, the summer would be over and I would layer myself in winter clothes...ah how I love the fall! :) Anyways, now I have a goal! Yippee! Ok that's all for now. I have to make dinner and am going to finish watching the Olympics that were recorded for the last 5 days.

  1. Yay your going to do the marathon!! I definately think going to the gym helps relieve stress from work...I would probably go insane if I didn't go to the gym.

    I'm not sure how we are going to expand our blog readers...all my friends think blogging is lame, but I like it.
